Researchers, Academics and Community Groups Nationwide
We are all supporters of the Dyett Global Leadership and Green Technology High School, and see both the proposal and the process as models for true investment in high quality public schools. We applaud the hunger strikers and the people that have come out to support them and we are heartened by your decision to re-open Dyett as an open-enrollment school.

Help Save Dyett High School on Tuesday, Aug. 25
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I am calling on you to join the Dyett Hunger Strikers on Tuesday, Aug. 25 with a 1-Day Solidarity Hunger Strike.
On Aug. 17, parents, teachers and community members began a hunger strike to save Dyett High School on the south side of Chicago. Dyett is the last open-enrollment public high school in Chicago's historic Bronzeville neighborhood, but in recent years Chicago Public Schools has made numerous attempts to close Dyett. Instead, the local community is fighting to transform Dyett into a sustainable community school called the Dyett Global Leadership and Green Technology Academy.
